No More Work

So I am officially done with work, or at least the workplace. This past Saturday Phil and I went to the holiday party my office holds every year. We showed Wade off (of course everyone thought he was adorable) and I said goodbye to everyone. This is a picture of me and my friend Ashley from work. I'll miss working with her, but I can't say I'll miss much else about the job.

I am still getting used to my new full-time mommy job. So far I have learned to always keep a burp cloth close to Wade as he spits up all the time. He is still a great little boy and we love having him! Here are some 3 week old pictures.

Back to Work

I'm finally back at work after a two and a half week hiatus. Remaining productive, however, I have two items to review.

Prison Break, Season 2.
3 out of 5 stars. I was pleased with the first season. The second season had the distinct feeling of a show being drawn out for profit purposes. The story was no longer trying to get out of prison but how can we draw this out a few more episodes. I will definitely not be watching the third season.

Friday Night Lights, Season 1.
4 out of 5 stars. This was a good show to watch with Jen. She enjoyed the drama part of the show, I enjoyed the football part of the show. I docked it a star for all the adult themes they were portraying as normal for high schoolers. Jen said she didn't think that was realistic.

Clean

While Charlotte graduated to taking baths in a bathtub, Wade graduated from sponge baths to mini-baths.
Thanks to Mom for keeping him modest.

He's been awake a whole lot more lately. His Dad has also been sleeping through the night. He's very excited for his Grandma to come see him at the beginning of February.

One Week Old

Wade is now one week old. Many of you have asked for updated pictures, so here they are. As you may be able to tell from some of the pictures, Wade has had some pretty bad jaundice. We have had to keep him on a "bili-blanket" for a while, but it seems to be helping and he should be back in shape in no time. Other than the jaundice, he is a great baby. He is already back up to his birth weight and he is a great little eater and sleeper (not to mention burper, a trait both his parents happily passed on to him).

Hanging out with his Aunt Emily and Cousin Logan.

These little guys are already great buddies.

We really appreciated all the help from Grandma Anderson and Emily who came out. We already miss having them here! Thanks for everything!!

Day 2 with Wade

We've enrolled Wade in Life Training Camp here. He's been doing pretty well on the core competencies, such as:
Sleeping

Back seat driving

Entertaining friends

Entertaining Family

He's been doing pretty well, but he still complains a fair amount

Wade Richard Broadbent

Wade Richard Broadbent, born 1/9/08, 8 lbs 6 ounces.

Mom is doing fine. Dad is doing better. The pediatrician just stopped in and reports he's a healthy baby. The hospital is directly adjacent to our apartment complex, so when we came down here, we got in the car and drove to the end of the parking lot (approximately 20-30 parking spaces) and walked across the street to check in. Looks like the countless times of listening hospital helicopters landing and ambulance sirens
have finally paid off by saving us 20 bucks on parking. More pictures to come.
